I am a SESIS, which is a Special Education School Improvement Specialist for Herkimer BOCES and our surrounding component schools. Before becoming a SESIS I was an instructional coach. Classroom walk-throughs were and still are a major part of my position in order to provide effective feedback to teachers based on instruction and student outcomes. My goal is to have every student succeed but by doing this teachers must first understand good instruction. I strongly believe that in order to improve, teachers must first learn and grow by watching what they do in the classroom, having a discussion based on this and deciding on where to go from there. If the teacher improves, students improve.
